Short film lovers and makers -
Don’t we ALSO love feature films and a summer night at the drive-in?
Imagine drive-in movies from way back when: parking on the lawn, tuning in with the car radio, sneaking in beer. Now imagine that by way of your bike: no gas money, no battery drain, no dirty windshield obscuring the art.
Later this month in Chicago, this seemingly unattainable dream will come true on the patio of the Hideout.
The Chicago Short Film Brigade and Logan Square International Film Series present a special outdoor, bike-in screening of Guy Maddin’s remarkable 2006 feature-film BRAND UPON THE BRAIN!
We’ll have radios around the patio but encourage you to please bring your own boombox or transitor radio to tune in to our live FM transmission.
The audience will also choose from a variety of celebrity narrators from Isabella Rossellini to Laurie Anderson, Guy Maddin himself and Eli Wallach, among others - and decide whose voice they want to hear on those radio-waves.
Be prepared to relive your drive-in memories with this mesmerizing, bizarro, old-timey, dark, and charming film!
Just don’t sneak in the beer - Hideout bar has you covered all night long.
